$1695 - Instructor Development Course (IDC) tuition fee only
If you are not an existing First Aid Instructor you will also need to attend the Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) course for an additional $400.
If you do not have the required IDC and EFRI instructor material/slates or have not completed the pre course IDC e-learning course you will need to pay the Dive centre an additional $1680
You will also need to pay PADI directly for all of the fees via credit card (IDC)
- IDC application fee $343
- EFRI application fee $236.50,
The PADI independent instructor Exam fee is to attend the two day exam which must be attended within twelve months after passing the IDC. The sooner the better!!!!! The IE fee is $1055 and also paid directly to PADI via credit card
So, if you need all of the above - it totals up to $5409
It also assumes you have all the scuba gear and all PADI recreational student material (available via e-learning), this should be in your PADI profile on www.padi.com. If you are a crossover from another agency, contact me so I can arrange hardcopy student material until you become a PADI professional.

For your PADI instructor development course, all IDC online learning; IDC and instructor slates for all recreational diving courses.
These are PADI IDC fees paid direct to PADI via credit card + optional PADI specialty instructor fees if attending post IE MSDT program
During the padi IDC and after you become an Instructor will be required to have access to all student Course Materials during your scuba instructor training.
It is assumed you have all student material for recreational courses you will need to reference them during the knowledge Presentations during the IDC and after as an instructor. Ask PADI for the e-voucher if you are an existing PADI DM to get access to all e-learning material. thank you PADI
You are expected to have all the equipment required as a PADI Instructor as defined in the PADI Instructor manual for your scuba instructor training
additional items like:-
- CPR mask for rescues
- two decent ropes for the DM knots and search and recovery / advanced modules
- decent slate and underwater pencil
- cable ties or stainless steel ring connectors and lanyard to complete the 'christmas tree' look on your BCD

If possible with the schedule, we kickstart your specialty instructor career by offering two very popular courses - Emergency Oxygen Provider and Enriched Air specialties - you then just have to pay for the PADI specialty fee (Option 1) direct to PADI which is a bonus to you as the most cost affordable

NEW PADI IDC courses starting on availability of students (prior to PADI instructor exam)*
All PADI 5* IDC centres offer the comprehensive new full IDC program and Emergency First Response Instructor program (EFRI). We include access to extensive instructor development material not available anywhere else as well as learning, tips and techniques for the IDC and post IDC information.
The Duration:
9 days if the student is already a first aid /emergency first aid instructor
10 days including the Emergency First Responder Instructor course
14 days if include the additional 3 days of training towards your Master Scuba Diver Training (MSDT) rating after the IE This is a very relaxed three days immediately after the two day Instructor Exam (IE) and the specialties tend to be the following:
- Deep, Naturalist, Nitrox, O2 and Navigation ($995 tuition fee) ***PADI specialty application fees extra paid direct to PADI by student
There are an optional 2 days of intensive theory, diving and rescue review pre IDC training for readiness as an option and highly recommended ($295)
**Please note this does not include 2 days for the PADI instructor exam (IE) .
The Locations are at the local dive centre classrooms, confined water (pool) and open water locations that are used for Open Water Classes and usually where the Instructor exam is located:
Prerequisites for the PADI IDC are:
18 years of age
First aid and CPR certified
You have a Professional dive medical not older than 12 months
Dive Master Certification
You have logged 100 dives
PADI online IDC course completed successfully prior to start of course
