I am a PADI Course Director and teach all levels of PADI courses from entry level recreational diving through to PADI professional Instructor / staff instructor and specialty instructor ratings.
For over 20 years I was employed by PADI Asia Pacific and PADI International Ltd (now EMEA) in my roles as a Sales and Training representative, Regional Manager, and PADI Instructor Examiner.
Originally from the red side of Manchester in the UK,
I am a family man and passionate about the conservation of our ocean planet both above and below the surface. If you ask me what I love most about diving I would say sharing my thirst for diving and having fun.
I learnt to dive while serving in the RAF in St Tropez in the south of France.
I have worked in the diving industry for 25+ years and have had the privilege of managing and teaching diving in South Africa and Turkey and more recently in Asia Pacific
Teaching my eldest son to dive – as a mini me, you can imagine the fun we had - best dive buddy forever.
Wreck diving. Some of my favorite wrecks have been off the coast of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea & diving “the Rubis” submarine wreck located around Cap Camarat near Saint Tropez, South of France.
As I live on the Central Coast of NSW – I have the wreck of the ex-HMAS Adelaide just 20 minutes from home - how good is that!
Shark diving on two-mile reef on Sodwana bay and Aliwal Shoal off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa – here I experienced my first shark sightings, what can I say but wow!!
Diving with mates at night & the post dive safety stop
Learning to SUP – had a few lessons recently & can`t wait to purchase a board and go solo, Umina Beach is a perfect place to paddle.
I would like to become a rebreather diver – aim to start my CCR training soon, always been on my bucket list.
Telling dad jokes – current ones my kids are rolling their eyes at are, “What board would you take to the party”, “A boogie board” & “Why do seagulls fly over the ocean?”, Because if they flew over the bay, we`d call them bagels”.
Here is an example of one of my blogs working for PADI as the regional training consultant. Check out the link below
